At the Age of 6, Jason picked up his first .22 caliber rifle. He insisted
joining family and friends on day long gopher hunts. This ignited the
spark into the experienced hunting and guiding career to follow.
It soon became apparent that gophers weren't enough for Jason, At the
Age of 14 he began his career as a wrangler on summer mountain pack
trips on horseback. It was these experiences that lead Jason into becoming
a full fledged hunting guide. Three days after high school graduation,
he was headed to the North West Territories as a guide for dall sheep,
mountain goat, moose, caribou, wolves, and bear. After many seasons
in the Yukon, N.W.T and Alberta, from the age of 18 on, he developed
a strong respect for the wildlife and the mountain ranges they inhabited.
However, beside his attraction for the mountains, he also has been addicted
to the mystic of the Whitetail deer.
Jason started outfitting in the fall of '93 for trophy Whitetail in
Alberta. Having worked for many of the best and most respected guiding
operations in the North America, he adopted great knowledge and understanding
of the client's goals and desires. With his adopted skill sets and his
own goal to provide customers with a quality experience, this focus
has lead to repeat and satisfied customers.
In 1996, after spending so many years influenced by whitetail, he established
Rack Ranch Deer Farm now including Rack Ranch Trophy Hunts. With comfortable
lodgings and great meals, Rack Ranch offers free range rifle and archery
trophy hunts for whitetail and mule deer in central Alberta. Monster
